Relax in the countryside of southern Puglia at a short drive from beautiful beaches and ancient towns surrounded by fields of grapes and olive trees. Savoring amazing meals and fresh produce from rich soil and organic farms. Each day we will take trips to picturesque towns such as Alberobello, Polignano a Mare, Locorotondo, Monopoli and much more. Explore the stunning beaches of the Adriatic and the Ionian Sea, from white sandy beaches to rocky cliffs and enjoy some of the freshest seafood you will ever have. Swim, dive and snorkel as we enjoy lunch on a boat off the coast of Castro Marina.
Walk through fields of ancient monumental olive trees that still bare fruit after more than 1,000 years of age admiring their gnarly shapes. Savor some of the best extra virgin olive oil and cook with locals making the local orecchiette pasta. If you are a cheese lover, weIcome to the land of the freshest mozzarella, burrata, ricotta and pecorino cheese. Of course, I will also introduce you to our local wines like Primitivo di Manduria, Nero di Troia and Aglianico to mention a few delicious reds. And for the lovers of art and architecture, we will tip-toe around the Boroque beautiful city of Lecce and enjoy one or two gelato!
Ideally we stay in two locations and take short day trips. Accommodations range from beautiful old villas from 1700s to farm or agriturismo from the 1500 or 1600s. According to the time and availability, we might stay in the historic center of one of the towns that date back to IV or V century BC with cobblestones throughout the historic center.
Transportation will also be provided and will arrange for pick up and drop off at the airport.
LOGISTICS: Fly into Brindisi (BDS) – most popular route is via Rome FCO. You should travel from the USA on Sept. 12 to arrive the following day. Traveling back, you will fly out of BDS on Sept. 26 and arrive the same day.
A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 per person is required by June 30th to book your spot.
The total cost per couple or two friends sharing a room, is $8,500. Should the group be of 6 people, the cost per couple will drop another $500.
