You will find the border city of Perpignan (meaning grape) was the former capital of the Kingdom of Majorca in the 13th & 14th centuries.  It is situated in an astonishing environment with one side on the Mediterranean coast and on the other side the French Pyrenees. In a geographical area known as Catalonia between Spain and France, this community offers a delicious blend of cultures, unique to its location and history.  The Palace of the Kings of Majorca is at the hub of the town and host to an annual festival called Guitares au Palais where pop-related and acoustic guitar music are featured.  It’s very easy to navigate this town with many historical buildings and beautiful monuments and fountains to see.

You can easily get caught up in the complexities of their 600 year old culture of Majorca as you explore the massive palace grounds. Enjoy the architecture as you walk through the town and try to understand Dali’s reaction to the city’s marvelous railway station.

As you stroll through the markets the atmosphere is bursting with spices, fruits or fish, a thousand scents and flavours from far away. It’s one of only a few places where you can enjoy a truly blended French/Spanish culture in regards to the food, the language and the history.
