Paris, France

If you are looking for magic in a big city, Paris is where you will find it.  No matter the season, the weather or the length of your stay, this city will envelope you in its unique mix of historical and modern culture.  While there is excellent underground mass transportation, you will still be tempted to take long walks to experience the various neighborhoods like the Latin Quarter or Montmarte.

Every turn of your head offers another photo opportunity whether it’s a classic Rodin sculpture in the yard of his former home or the Basilique du Sacre Coeur, or perhaps the 407 year old Pont Neuf (meaning new bridge) over the Seine or the hustle and bustle along the Champs d’Elysee.  Foodies have numerous opportunities to partake of international cuisine as well as that which is singularly French.  The wine, the music, the mystique of the night life, the list goes on and on.

  • Paris was born on the “Ile de la Cite” at the intersection of a waterway and road. This is currently where you will find La Catedral de Notre Dame.
  • Paris is divided into 20 arrondissements or sections, such as Eiffel Tower or Marais. This is helpful to know when navigating the city.
  • While Paris has just over 2 million inhabitants, there are more than 12 million in the metropolitan area. Paris receives around 28 million tourists per year of which about 17 million are foreign.
  • There are many museums, theaters and monuments which include many of the Egyptian art and artifacts pilfered by Napoleon hundreds of years ago. It is important to study hours and days of operation as you plan your visit.
  • Paris is considered to be the hub of haute couture. Shopping there is world-renowned.
  • There are beautiful parks and gardens throughout the city as well as ancient Roman ruins.
  • It has a typical western European climate.
  • There is a new automated metro under construction scheduled to be completed in 2030

There are a multitude of hotel options in the city.  There is something to meet every financial, cultural and historical need. VoomaGo has worked with our network of Locals and partnered with a few vetted accommodations and options. When we’re building your trip with you, we can discuss the availability and right fit for your needs.

A day in Paris…

As you walk through the Tuileries on your way to The Louvre, you pass a food cart offering the most exquisite cheese covered sausages, they melt in your mouth as you sit on a bench watching children sail their boats across the beautiful pond.

Continue your stroll through Montmartre with a local you see where famous and infamous artists such as Picasso, Dali & Van Gogh spent their leisure time in the early 20th century leaving you to imagine who and what inspired their famous work.

Or wonder through with your mouth is agape as you absorb not just the beauty of the art displayed there but also the majesty of the Musee d’Orsay, a former train station.  This is a perfect example of how the French revitalize rather than destroy. La Tour Eiffel will always be watching over you!
