Trekking & Mushroom Picking on Mt. Etna

Maletto, ItalyCall For Price Full Day

This Experience will vary according to the season. During fall and spring, you will walk in the woods surrounding Mt. Etna, exploring and hunting for mushrooms with Salvo and his friends who are local mushrooms-picking experts. Hopefully, it will be a lucky day so that at Andrea’s cottage they can cook and sample some delicious mushrooms and enjoy a stunning view of Mt. Etna. If you love unspoiled nature walks, this is an Experience you won’t want to miss. Plus, you’ll get to be in the company of local Sicilians who are proud to share their culture with you. Dinner will be a typical meal with seasonal ingredients and products from local farmers in the area. Local wine will be flowing happily and according to tradition!

In the summer and winter, while there are no mushrooms, it is still possible to enjoy a walk with locals on Mt. Etna, have a picnic and if we are lucky, the volcano will be erupting to enjoy some breathtaking lava display from afar (don’t worry Etna is a safe active volcano!). This is a hike so come prepared with your hiking boots, a backpack, water and a layer or two to stay warm.
