An unforgettable hike and a relaxing mineral massage.
In the heart of Zion Valley, between Fond Tou Fe and Delices, rests a small property where a wonderful Rasta family found refuge and built their lifestyle around nature’s element of water, air, earth and fire. Everything here is grown organically. Peace and spectacular natural beauty abound.
A river rich in minerals fed by the waters from Victoria Falls and Boiling lake runs by the home of Moses James, which serves as the perfect setting and atmosphere to spend the day learning about the island of Dominica and the Rasta lifestyle. Moses is a charismatic herbalist with a wonderful spirit and personality who will welcome you and share with you his culture, simple way of life and hospitality. His knowledge of local healing plants and herbs is fascinating and many on the island consider him a “bush doctor”. His son, Israel, will give you a tour of the property, introduce you to his father and then guide you on a spectacular hike through muddy paths, river currents, over, up, down and through rocks to get to Victoria Falls — an incredible scene you will never forget. Upon your return, Israel’s family will have cooked for you a simple but delicious meal using only vegetables and spices from their own garden and cooked on open fire.
Be prepared for all of your senses stimulated, excited, stretched and pleased in multiple ways during this exhilarating Experience. We recommend that you relax and take full advantage of being in this peaceful and sacred place. After you enjoy your lunch, don’t miss out on walking to the White River and sit in the current by a nice rock for as long as you wish to let the water give you a soothing water massage.
