Natural Wonders of the Alcantara National Park

Early in the morning, our Local will take you on a fantastic hike in the park of the Alcantara where thousands of years ago, the lava from Mount Etna blocked the river flow and as it came in contact with the water formed beautiful columns. Over the years the columns eroded and have now been transformed into impressive ravines. This place is completely off the beaten path and little-known by tourists. Many small lakes and waterfalls form along the river all with different color tones that range from black to light gray to almost white, any perfect for jumping in to cool off on a nice warm day.

You will be trekking and hiking through picturesque countryside and after about a mile you can enjoy a swim in the lakes! This Experience requires fueling up, so you’ll do what many locals do before setting off ― have a special Sicilian breakfast made with Pistacchio di Bronte, a very famous kind of pistachio called the Green Gold. The excursion will end by relaxing and enjoying some wine and delicious cuisine while dining at the best restaurant of the region run by a family friend of our Local.
