Making Maccheroni and Cannoli with Nonna Nunzia

This experience will take place in Maletto, an ancient town dating from 1263. Today Maletto has barely 5,000 inhabitants. Our Local will meet you at a previously agreed-upon location or pick you up where you are staying. You briefly will explore the old town, enjoying the multiple views of Mt. Etna and a coffee break at a local Italian cafe/bar, compliments of our Local.

The real fun begins when we join Nonna (Grandma) Nunzia in her modest home to learn how to make the popular Sicilian pasta, “maccheroni”. You will venture together to the local market, get to know the family, mingle and spend a day learning about Sicilian culture. Try your hand at making things or simply observe, if you prefer, but make sure you have good appetite. You’ll get to partake of a classic southern Italian meal as you practice the local dialect with the family in a charming Sicilian atmosphere. After dinner, hopefully you’ve saved some room for the famous Cannoli Siciliani that you will have prepared with Nonna Nunzia.

Included are a coffee break, a full Italian meal with wine, pick-up, and any driving involved.
