Homestay and Dominican Cooking Secrets with Sybil
Roseau, DominicaCall For Price Full Day
There is no better way to experience how the locals in Dominica go about their life on a tropical island than to enjoy a home stay and a cooking class with one of our Locals. Sybil is a fond believer of Hippocrates’ philosophy of letting “food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” She is a talented, passionate cook as well as a wellness expert, and she is happy to share her gift for creating sensational recipes. Using organic local produce, either from her garden or from local farmers, she uses an array of local spices that will enthuse your palate. With Sybil and her husband, Tom, you will experience the joy of cooking and eating healthy while learning local secrets and gaining healing knowledge about many spices and herbs that the locals use. Her cooking is gluten- and lactose-free, and they will be happy to work around any food allergies or intolerances.
Very few places in the world have the diversity of plants, herbs, healing foods, and fruits that Dominica does. On this island, even small things such as a tea can make quite an impression. Sybil will welcome you with a delightful seasonal infused tea in her beautiful plantation home just outside Calibishie. The house can comfortably accommodate a travel party of four. This Experience will include an overnight stay in Sybil’s comfortable home located 15 minutes from a beautiful river and beach. In the morning, a treat awaits you before you continue on for another adventurous day — Sybil will make you a wonderful breakfast with fresh tropical fruits, freshly squeezed juice, infused cocoa tea or coffee, eggs, and fruit breads.
