Harvesting Olives in Sicily

Maletto, ItalyCall For Price Full Day

A day highlighting the olive and its importance to Italy

In this incredible Experience, you will join a local farmer in the beautiful agricultural landscape of Sicily to help with olive picking (note: the harvest only takes place during November to mid-December). Learn about the unique qualities of olives and local olive oil produced in the region. This is a special opportunity to experience Sicilian culture and lifestyle first-hand as our Local shares with you family connections and friends. Make sure you ask all the questions you have in mind to local experts who have been cultivating and harvesting olives for many years and from one generation to the next.

Something unique to this Experience — we will arrange a visit to an old-fashioned “frantoio” owned by a friend of the family to see how olives turn into olive oil and enjoy a tasting, during which you can inquire about the health aspects and advantages of olive oil and compare it with olive oil from other regions in Italy. At the end our Local will take you to the house of her friends to enjoy a typical dinner where olives and oil are the main ingredients. This Experience also promises a lot of fun even when it is not harvest time of year.
