Exploring Cozy Neighborhoods of Cabo Frio

Cabo Frio, BrazilCall For Price Full Day

The small, lively town of Cabo Frio, discovered in 1503 by Américo Vespúcio, is located two hours east of Rio de Janeiro. During this Experience, you will be joining our Local Aline to walk around the charming neighborhood of Portinho which lies on the Canal do Itajuru linking a beautiful lagoon to the Atlantic Ocean. Aline will show you picturesque spots around town, like Passagem (an old fishing village where typical houses from the 1500s can still be seen), great restaurants, markets, and the transportation system, all while giving you great insights into Brazilian culture. Stop by Vida Leve – Leve Vida where you may want to buy some of the best local açai you’ll ever try. This is a store just a couple of blocks away from the beach, which sells only natural products and is frequented by locals. Buy local fruits (goiaba and abacaxi strongly are recommended) from street vendors.

Aline will be happy to tell you how to move around the city or the nearby must-visit destinations of Arraial do Cabo and Buzios. To end the Experience, our Local will escort you to a recommended local restaurant serving the local Brazilian Picanha — a paradise for meat lovers with fish and vegetarian options, too. Here you are welcome to have lunch or dinner if you choose, and our Local will recommend you to the owner to ensure that you experience real Brazilian food and authentic atmosphere.
