Dolceacqua: A Sweet Medieval Town

Cuneo, ItalyCall For Price Full Day

Few have discovered the gem of a town called Dolceacqua (literally translated as “Sweet Water”) in the northern Italian region of Liguria. Tucked away up near the French border just a few kilometers from the coast, this medieval town is one of the most important and ancient in the region. It was here that Monet found much inspiration, dedicateing four of his works to the town.

Our Local from Cuneo will meet you in the city and together you will travel south. After a drive lasting about two hours, you’ll be able to stretch your legs by taking a walk through the tiny ancient streets called “carrugi.” With our Local’s guidance, you’ll get a feel for the two beautiful villages connected by a spectacular humpback stone bridge from medieval times. You also will enjoy a visit to the old medieval castle that overlooks the city. To top off the day, you must sip a glass of Rossese di Dolceacqua in one of the typical taverns and enjoy great local food such as fresh fish and much more.
