In the heart of the Dominican rainforest, at the foothills of the Morne Trois Pitons National Park and not too far away from Roseau, lies a small farm owned by a bright, kind woman named Dawn who is passionate about biodiversity, sustainability, and organic farming. She started her small agribusiness from scratch with the intention to teach and educate students, visitors, and locals on the importance of organic farming, sustainability, and composting by utilizing the principle of permaculture.

Dawn will show you around the farm with pride, and if you wish to help with some farm activities, there are always plenty to do. Her knowledge of plants, herbs, and stories is impressive. From her farm, Dawn will accompany you on a couple of short hikes in the luxuriant rainforest, including the newly discovered Soltan Fall on the property of a friend. After you enjoy a picnic lunch with produce from Dawn’s farm, you will continue to the historic Jacko’s Fall, named after an escaped slave. Make sure you wear shorts or a swimming suit — the falls and pools are so inviting that swimming in them is not only tempting, it is a must!
