Appetite for BeautyExperiencing La Bella Vita!

Trip Dates: October 26 to November 8th – 2018

These two delightful weeks will be spent exploring the concept of beauty and la Bella Vita while traveling in Puglia, Calabria, and the Amalfi Coast lead by travel expert Antimo Cimino and accompanied by Italian culture blogger Lonielle De Haven. With some of the most beautiful and unique backdrops in Italy as our stage, locals by our side, along with delicious food and luscious wine, throughout this trip, we will play with aesthetics and style to create beauty around the home, in the kitchen and in our lives.

Our journey will end on the Amalfi Coast on November 9th. After we say goodbye you may want to stay on your own and continue to enjoy the Amalfi Coast or make your way up north to Sorrento, Naples or Rome. If you will be heading home at the end of Appetite for Beauty you will most likely want to fly our of Fiumicino Airport in Rome. Continue reading for more details…

Week One: Puglia

This memorable journey will start off in Puglia. This southern Italian region has gained much popularity in recent years and has quickly risen to the top of bucket lists everywhere. We will be landing in this breathtaking landscape at the end of October, the perfect time to enjoy the fall and take part in the process of Extra Virgin Olive Oil making. We will learn about it’s history and culture; participate in local lifestyle by harvesting olives and olive oil tasting; cooking with locals and enjoying some exceptional wines.

Our journey will start in Lecce, the crib of the Baroque. We will be staying in this facinating city to explore it’s culture, ornate architecture, and ruins of the ancient city center. After Lecce we will make our way north to discover the cities and valleys surrounding Locorotondo and Alberobello, here we will enjoy a relaxing stay in one of the beautiful Trulli houses that date back to XVII century.

ACCOMMODATIONS IN PUGLIA & CALABRIA

After stopping in the ancient town of Matera (Second most ancient town in the world after Petra), we will make our way to the neighboring region of Calabria. Here we will stay a few nights in a castle from the XIII century overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Week Two: Calabria and Amalfi Coast

The second part of this journey will take us to the Amalfi Coast area for more local activities, amazing sightseeing, walking and hiking. Of course we will be indulging in the obligatory wine tasting in this region as well as we stroll and hike through the old towns of Vietri Sul Mare, Atrani, Amalfi, Praiano and Positano.

This picture perfect stretch of coastline is a treat for the eyes with it’s mountains, turquoise Mediterranean sea, and stunning views from it’s colorful cliff side villages. The terraced towns and gardens that line the Amalfi coast are the home to the lemon trees that produce the famous Limoncello. Something we will be sure not to miss. From watching ceramists working with clay and painting beautiful pieces of ceramic art, to photography tips on how to capture your very own unique moments of beauty that will stay with you for a lifetime.
